Central Island Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program (CICAPP)

CICAPP has specialized services for children and youth who have:
- complex mood and/or psychotic concerns
- complex neuro-developmental and associated psychiatric concerns
This is a referral-based services for children and youth. Family physicians, pediatricians and mental health clinicians may make referrals to the Central Island Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service. Contact Child, Youth & Family Mental Health Services to discuss a potential referral or obtain more information (see URL and referral form below). Examples of those who may be referred are youth with complex challenges such as severe anxiety presentations requiring psychiatric medication management, bipolar, obsessive-compulsive, panic, post-traumatic stress, psychosis, or schizophrenia with or without concurrent ADHD, ASD, learning disabilities, or other developmental impairments. Primary and secondary care should have already been explored and proven unsuccessful before referring to CICAPP (ie. CYMH, first line medications, etc.)
