Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) - Westshore

Provides same-day access to team-based primary care delivered by physicians, nurse practitioners and registered nurses, with access to mental health and substance use clinicians.
The Westshore UPCC provides care for same-day, non-emergency injuries and illnesses that need medical attention within 24 hours for people living in the Westshore region. Accessible for patients who are unable to see their primary healthcare provider in that time, or do not have a primary healthcare provider.

When to Come to This Clinic:
  • Infections or abscesses
  • Common Illnesses including coughs, colds, sore throat, ear infections
  • Skin conditions such as rashes, skin irritation, minor wounds or itchy spots
  • Stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation
  • Minor illnesses, fevers or infections in children
  • Mental health concerns such as low mood, anxiety and depression
  • Urinary tract infections (which local pharmacists can also assist with)
  • Allergic reactions or asthma (patients to call 911 if experiencing difficulty with breathing)
  • Minor Injuries including sprains and strains
  • Stitches for cuts and suture removal
  • Stabilizing a patient for hospital transport if needed
  • Pregnancy testing and options
  • STI testing and treatment
  • Support and care after sexual assault

How to Access This Clinic:
  • Walk-ins are not accepted: please call the Island Health Primary Care Access Line to book a same-day appointment
  • Call 1-833-688-8722 and press '1' for clinics in Victoria & Westshore. Press '7' for Westshore UPCC and press '1' again to book a same-day appointment/to speak to staff
  • Same-day, urgent care appointments are available to be booked during clinic hours (8:00 AM - 8:00 PM), 7 days a week, 365 days of the year
Additional Information:
  • The Westshore UPCC team is able to connect patients to more specialized clinicians to support the patient with a variety of health conditions.
  • Patients may also receive ongoing care through referrals to a range of community services and supports
  • Available for patients living in Colwood, Metchosin, Highlands, Langford, and View Royal. Click HERE to find all UPCCs in BC.
  • Appointments are available to all Westshore residents, including the frail elderly, people with mental health and substance use concerns, and patients unattached to a physician.
