Sexual Assault Response Team
Abuse / Neglect, Services for Youth, and Victim Services
Provided by Victoria Sexual Assault Centre (VSAC)
Provides immediate and short-term support for all persons who have been sexually assaulted in the last 7 days.
The Sexual Assault Response Team provides immediate support, 24-hours a day, to people of all genders, ages 13 and over, who have been sexually assaulted within the last 7 days. Services provided include:
- Crisis support and information
- Access to medical care and forensic exams
- Options for reporting to police
- Connections to community supports and resources
In addition, specialized phone support and information is available from the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Worker for the first month after a sexual assault. SART can explore options and connect clients with services and resources to support them.
Victims of sexual assault can utilize the service access line to arrange support from SART. VSAC’s Access Line provides information about our services, support and referral to all VSAC programs or other community resources.
