Virtual pre and postnatal education classes for pregnant people and their partner. Offered throughout BC.
Belly to Birth is a prenatal and newborn education provider offering online classes to families across British Columbia. The classes are taught by Registered Nurses with specialized perinatal training and childbirth-education certification. All of the instructors are actively working in BC healthcare settings. The courses provide unbiased, practical education to help expectant parents feel confident and prepared for pregnancy, labour, birth, newborn care, breastfeeding, and the postpartum period. The classes are designed for all expectant parents regardless of birth setting or provider type.

Class Descriptions:
  • Early Pregnancy Prenatal Class: A free class designed for anyone in their first or second trimester who wants to learn more about the stages of pregnancy, physical and emotional changes, nutrition, lifestyle considerations, warning signs, and an overview of BC-specific resources and next steps in care. Ideal for those newly pregnant or awaiting their first prenatal appointment.
  • Breastfeeding Essentials Class: A free class covering the basics of breastfeeding/chestfeeding, including latch and positioning, feeding cues, milk production, normal newborn feeding behaviours, and when to seek additional support. Includes information about available feeding support and resources across BC.
  • What to pack for the Hospital Class: A free focused class outlining what to bring to the hospital for labour, birth, postpartum recovery, and the newborn.


The classes are offered to pregnant people and their partner/support person. The classes are open to all of BC residents, including remote areas (as long as internet access is available).
