Offers a wide variety of free or low cost programs and services to help people with sight loss live more independently and inclusively.
CNIB creates opportunities for limitless possibilities by equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to break down barriers and pursue the life they choose. Whether it’s children and youth groups, employment workshops, recreational activities, peer support groups or technology training sessions, their innovative programs are designed to educate, engage and support participants across all areas of their lives.
Programs and services include:
- CNIB Guide Dogs: A program designed to expand access to guide dogs by raising and training dogs exclusively for people with sight loss. The program is built on the belief that anyone who wishes to have a guide dog should have the opportunity to do so.
- Mobile Hub: A new program delivery model that brings in-person programming to local communities at no cost to participants.
- Live Programs: Provides support and services to enhance daily living skills, help individuals achieve their goals, and empower them to move toward the future with confidence.
- Technology Programs: Unleashing the power of technology lets individuals lead an independent life. Technology programs level the playing field, providing skills and training that focus on the accessible, available, and affordable technology.
- Learn Programs: Focus on education, skills training, and literacy to empower individuals to achieve their goals by fostering social skills and independence.
- Play Programs: Encourage an active and healthy lifestyle through activities such as yoga, painting, and camp experiences, while providing opportunities for social connection and community engagement.
