Community Respiratory Therapy

Provides assessment and treatment of patients with both acute and chronic dysfunction of the cardiopulmonary system.
Services may include:
- respiratory diagnostics including spirometry screening,
- oxygen assessment,
- palliative care,
- ventilator management,
- artificial airway management,
- bronchial secretion management,
- counselling for tobacco cessation,
- pulmonary rehabilitation
- general respiratory therapy.
Community respiratory therapists work with clients in their homes, at health centers and at doctor's offices to provide clinical support and self-management coaching to people with cardio respiratory disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and heart failure.
